The Traveler Wife | No, My Visa is Not Expiring in 2 Days!!!

Date: November 15th 2013
Trip from: Midway International Airport, Chicago
Trip to: Billy Bishop Airport, Toronto, Canada
Flight: Porter Airlines, 392 . 7.20 pm flight
Written: In the Air

Yay, got another empty flight and a pretty smooth check in process - the awesomeness of flying porter (A Canadian airline) from the US.

However while I went to receive my boarding pass, Pamela -my favorite Porter lady- informed me that my visa expires in two days! No, it did not mess up this current trip but has the ability to mess up the future one since the tickets have already been bought. Of course I did not forget the date but according to Canadian immigration, though it expires Nov 17th I should be able to fly on it till January as they usually count the 6 months from the first day I use the the visa. Apparently the porter airlines staff are totally clueless about this and say I would need to "prove" this with some sort of document. *sigh* All this na traveler wife matter!

Anyways I almost went into panic mode when they told me this considering the next trip has been bought and it Thanksgiving (I would really hate to not be with my husband for this holiday). But thanks to the the Jamie Grace song I have been listening to all day - it's a beautiful day. A line from the song says "I've got no need to worry, I've got no room for doubt...its a beautiful day!" so this has been ringing in my spirit and its with this I received this visa expiration news and trusting God to show himself. So when I land, I'd talk to Canadian immigration and figure a way to get this sorted out.

Hmmm what else about this trip? I actually listened to the air hostess directions till the very end! I mean I actually paid attention all through - my flying etiquette is obviously being brushed up with all these many travels. Lol. that's so ironic, someone would expect it to be the other way round but hey it's me!

Remember two trips ago when I almost missed my flight because I was shopping? Lol well today I bought those necklaces I was in search of back then and I'm pretty happy with the purchase - I need to remind myself that it is not compulsory to shop in the airport! Yo know it's not wise to do some airport shopping because airport goods are higher than normal (Take this as my Travel Tip #1). My standard airport food has now become mashed potatoes and gravy, today I added an apple to make me feel a bit better about myself and this my new calorie counting diet :|

Added after seeing Canadian Immigration: Apparently they can't give me anything to prove the issue to the airline staff even though they agree That my visa is valid till January. What manner of people are these though? So they suggested I have porter airlines give them a call which I intend to do immediately I return from this trip. *fingers crossed, God is in control, I shall spend thanksgiving with my yummy husband*
