In My Kente Skirt

Many of you might know that I have a pretty awesome Fashion designer friend and roommate - Maryam Garba. You may know this because the days I decide to wear a piece by her, I'm probably a little too happy with my Facebook status messages. And of course yesterday was no exception.

My tweet (which was connected to my FB status) read "Today is wear your Kente to work day. Lol! @maryamgarba has obviously hooked me up pretty well :)"

Originally the skirt is called the Aisha skirt but Maryam made some pieces with African -Ghana to be precise- print which is called Kente. I happily rocked my Kente Skirt to the office with one of my favorite tops ever (I think this top is pleading with me to chill a bit) and for the office look (on the bus, since I really did not wear it at all in the office), I threw in my Agaci Black Blazer.

In my mainly Green and Red look (I hope I was not perceived as the Christmas longing girl...even though I am), I was repping my friend and of course Mr. Punch too! Oh you did not know I married a Ghana man?

Because it's totally okay to laugh with (at) yourself while taking your own picture - nothing crazy about it at ll.
Yay it's a Travel weekend tomorrow! That means I get to see the husband plus I get to dish out another Traveler Wife piece! Pray I have an awesome flight experience!

  3. I'm very sad this is my first time at your blog after months of chatting on twitter! I'm glad I finally made it though :) I'm loving this Kente skirt on you. I know you said the top is tired but I love the color and the shimmering sleeve area. Thank you for sharing with us on Countdown in Style.
