Breaking

Kerry wasn't ready for the breaking, she had procrastinated too much though she knew it was well needed. She had gotten comfortable in the level she was with God, that very stagnant level. In her, was the understanding that the stagnation was not right, she knew it wasn't God's plan for her life-Proverbs 4:18 "But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day" (NIV). There was supposed to be an increase, a deepening, there was supposed to be MORE. But somehow Kerry had managed to push this work to be done further and further away.

One day as she prayed, like she always did, praying around the point(not the point itself), then unexpectedly, she heard herself tell him "break me Lord, break me and build what you need to build in me". Kerry finally told God she was ready for his work, even though she might not have been fully convinced as at then about her readiness, something in her caused her to say those words. Then there came some sort of relief (peace), a relief that brought conviction to Kerry as she heard God say "Now I can work on you my child".

Sometimes we know we need work, but we fear the process and just want the results. But like a lot of things in life, results never come without process or procedure, breaking or dissembling, discipline or correction. We see this sort of explanation in the book of Jeremiah when God demonstrated the process of his work- Jeremiah 18:4 "But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over"(NLT). That word "crushed" is what we fear most of the time. Your crushing maybe having to spend more time praying or giving up some bad habit or anything that stands in the way of your increase in God but you feel you cant get or let go of. It may be something you need to begin or something you need to stop. Results come after all these have taken place.

The moment we agree to let God start the required process in us then, his grace and strength to help us through is made available as long as we solely trust him and his work in us. Fix your mind on the results to come-the brand new you-as you allow the potter to do his work.

Be bold today, and ask God to break you-to start the long awaited and needed process.

Stay blessed
Preserve your Saltiness
